Digital versions are available now in the Nintendo eShop in both Standard Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition with 90-day access to the Taiko Music Pass with 500 additional songs. The Taiko Music Pass with 30-day and 90-day access are also available for purchase separately. TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: RHYTHM FESTIVAL will be available in physical format for Nintendo Switch on October 7, 2022.

In TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: RHYTHM FESTIVAL, players go on a whimsical journey through a music festival in colorful Omiko City. With their guides DON-Chan and new character Kumo-Kyun along for the ride, the game offers multiple modes to play, practice, and ultimately master the endlessly fun experience of playing digital Taiko drums set to favorite songs, including pop hits and video game classics. TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: RHYTHM FESTIVAL features 76 songs available in the base game at launch, with new tracks such as “Gurenge,” “Feel Special,” and “Racing into the Night.” Game play includes multiple modes, with a Story Mode where players vie to become a Taiko master, multiplayer modes with Online battles and “couch co-op” Party Mode to play with friends and compete in fun mini games such as the “Great Drum Toy War,” and Taiko Mode for endless play and practice. The game also features an engaging customization system, where players earn “Don Coins” as they play to acquire fun in-game items such as costumes and nameplates that factor into game play.

“After a four-year hiatus, everyone's favorite drum rhythm game is back with exciting features, new and old, and all-new music,” said Dan Ham, Sr. Brand Manager, Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. “TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: RHYTHM FESTIVAL is a wonderful – or ‘DONderful’ – entry in this beloved franchise, adding online battles, a party mode, and a music subscription service with more than 500 songs, delivering the richest experience yet for returning players, and a fantastic entry point for new players.”

The TAIKO NO TATSUJIN™ rhythm game franchise, which started in 2001, has seen numerous titles and songs. TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: RHYTHM FESTIVAL will be the first title in the series to offer the Taiko Music Pass giving players access to a catalog of more than 500 songs along with monthly updates adding new songs. As a special bonus, players with save data from the 2018 release TAIKO NO TATSUJIN™: DRUM ‘N’ FUN will receive three additional songs as well as customization items.
