Are You Alice? manga artist launched manga adaptation of game in 2012

The January issue of Kadokawa's Dengeki Maoh magazine published the final chapter of Ikumi Katagiri's manga adaptation of the God Eater 2 game on Wednesday. Kadokawa will publish the manga's 10th compiled book volume on December 27, and it will include additional exclusive content.

The manga adapts the game by Bandai Namco Entertainment, which is set three years after the original God Eater game, and focuses on a special unit within the Fenrir Organization that investigates the origins of a new phenomenon known as the Black Plague.

Katagiri launched the manga in Dengeki Maoh in 2012, and Kadokawa published the manga's ninth volume in October 2018. The God Eater 2 game debuted in Japan in 2013, and the God Eater 2: Rage Burst version of the game debuted in North America in 2016. God Eater 3, the latest installment in the series, launched in North America and Europe on February 8 for PlayStation 4 and PC. The game debuted in Japan last December for PS4.

Ai Ninomoiya and Katagiri launched their Are You Alice? manga in Monthly Comic Zero-Sum in 2009, and ended in June 2015. Yen Press published all 12 volumes of the manga.

The God Eater game franchise inspired a 13-episode television anime series in 2015. Aniplex of America released the anime with an English dub on Blu-ray Disc.
