NISA Details Additions for Switch Version of Happy Birthdays Game

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Game launches in N. America on June 5, in Europe on June 8

NIS America revealed the details of its Nintendo Switch release of the Happy Birthdays game on Monday.

The Nintendo Switch version replaces in-game items with a skill system in which players can earn stars to activate skills that affect the environment. When the conditions in the game are right, the new elemental dragons Gaea Drakonis, Ouranos Drakonis, and Hydor Drakonis will appear. Players will also be able to use stars to buy Monuments, decorations that were DLC in the original game. In addition, the game includes new grassland, desert, and tundra biomes that players may use as their starting world.

NISA describes the game:

From legendary creator Mr. Yasuhiro Wada, comes Happy Birthdays: a sandbox game in which players create cube-shaped worlds that give rise to diverse and unique lifeforms. With careful experimentation, players can shape the geography and alter the temperature of their world to create the conditions for life and witness the birth of an entire ecosystem!

Happy Birthdays will launch in North America on June 5 and in Europe on June 8 for Nintendo Switch. The release will feature in-game text in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, and Japanese. The release will also have physical and digital editions.

The game launched in Japan on the Nintendo Switch on March 29.

The game is a Nintendo Switch version of Wada's Birthdays the Beginning game. Arc System Works released the game on PlayStation 4 in Japan in January 2017. NIS America released the game on PS4 and PC via Steam in May 2017 in North America and Europe.
