Resident Evil 7 Game Wins G.A.N.G. Award, Reveals 5.1 Million in Worldwide Sales

Game launched worldwide in January 2017

The Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.) awarded CAPCOM's Resident Evil 7: Biohazard game the Best VR Audio award at the 16th Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.) Awards event held during Game Developers Conference on March 22.

CAPCOM wrote about the award in a press release on Friday, which also revealed that the game has sold 5.1 million copies worldwide as of March 31.

The game also won the Virtual Reality Game of the Year award at the The SXSW Gaming Awards in March, the Best VR/AR Game award at The Game Awards 2017 in December, and the Best VR award at the 35th Golden Joystick Awards in November.

The game had shipped 3 million copies worldwide as of February 2017.

Resident Evil 7: biohazard shipped the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in January 2017. The game is fully compatible and playable on Sony's PlayStation VR headset, and it supports 4K on the PlayStation 4 Pro. The game shipped in Japan in January 2017 under the title Biohazard 7: resident evil.
