The January issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Dragon Age magazine published the final chapter of Sumeragi's BlazBlue Variable Heart manga on December 9. The manga's third and final compiled book volume is slated for March.
The manga centers on the character Mai Natsume, the main character of the previous BlazBlue Remix Heart manga, and is set after the Ikaruga Civil War event in the game's story. Mai Natsume debuted as a playable character in BlazBlue CentralFiction, the latest installment in the fighting game series.
The manga launched in Monthly Dragon Age in 2016. Kadokawa published the manga's second compiled book volume last July.
Sumeragi's earlier BlazBlue Remix Heart manga launched in Kadokawa's Age Premium monthly digital comic magazine in 2012, and ended in 2014. The manga received four volumes.
BlazBlue CentralFiction originally debuted in Japanese arcades in November 2015, and the game launched in Japan for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in October 2016. Aksys Games released the game in North America in November 2016.
