Monster Hunter: World Game's PSX Trailer Reveals Mega Man Collaboration

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
English PS4 beta for PS+ launches on Saturday, game launches on January 26

Sony streamed a new trailer for CAPCOM's Monster Hunter: World game for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC at its PlayStation Experience 2017 (PSX) opening celebration event on Friday, which highlights some of the game's story. The end of the video reveals a collaboration with the Mega Man franchise.

Japanese Version

The game's PS4 beta is limited to PlayStation Plus members, and will run from December 9 at 12:00 p.m. EST to December 12 at 11:59 a.m. EST. Players will get bonuses to use in the full game.

The game is slated for a worldwide release on PS4 and Xbox One on January 26. The game will be available in Digital Deluxe Edition and Collector's Edition versions.

The Digital Deluxe Edition will come with the Samurai Set armor, three additional gestures, two additional sticker sets, an additional face paint, and additional hair style.

The Collector's Edition will contain everything from the Digital Deluxe Edition and also include a Nergigante figure, a download code for the game's soundtrack, and the "Monster Designs" art book.

People who pre-order any edition of the game will receive a download code for the Origin Armor set and Fair Wind charm. In addition, digital pre-orders will get an exclusive PS4 theme.

The PC release will follow after the game's console release.

The new game will be an open world game that will no longer have the previous games' loading screens in between areas, and will thus no longer allow players to use zone transitions as safe zones. The game will have a "living ecosystem" that will allow players to use and destroy elements of the environment, and use monster behaviors against other monsters.

CAPCOM's latest Monster Hunter game, Monster Hunter XX, shipped in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS on March 18, and shipped for the Nintendo Switch console on August 25. CAPCOM's Monster Hunter Stories role-playing game for the Nintendo 3DS shipped in Japan in October 2016, and it shipped in the West in September.

Update: Added Japanese version of the video.
