Manga Box Adds New Wine Manga From The Drops of God Creators in English

posted on by Emma Hanashiro
Le Vin, Wine Burglar began last month in Japan

DeNA's free Manga Box smartphone and tablet app added Tadashi Agi and Shū Okimoto's Le Vin, Wine Burglar manga in English.

Manga Box describes the story:

A five man band of thieves whose specialty is wine travel the world, appearing here and there under the name "Phantom Thief Levain" to save bottles of unparalleled wine from the villains who hoard them! A brand-new action title from Shū Okimoto and Tadashi Agi, creators of the definitive title in wine manga, "The Drops of God."

Le Vin, Wine Burglar began in the 47th issue of Kodansha's Morning magazine in Japan last month.

The duo ended their The Drops of God manga in June, and the 44th and final volume shipped in Japan in July. Vertical published part of the manga in North America. Throughout its serialization, the manga has famously boosted the sales of wines profiled in the story. It has also been recognized by the French wine magazine La Revue du vin de France, who gave the manga its top award, and by the New York Times, which profiled the manga in its Dining and Wine section. A live-action Japanese series based on the series aired in 2009.

Tadashi Agi, also known as Shin Kibayashi and other pen names, is also the creator of Kindaichi Case Files, Getbackers, and The Knight in the Area. He is serving as editor-in-chief of the Manga Box app.
