This year's 18th issue of Shueisha's Margaret magazine is announcing on August 20 that Riko Miyagi will start serializing her Mei-chan no Shitsuji DX (DX read as 'Deluxe') manga in the magazine's 19th issue, which will ship on September 5. The listing for the manga reads, "That popular manga has returned to Margaret." The manga will be featured on the cover of the issue, and the first chapter will be 44 pages long, and will include color pages.
The original manga follows Mei, a ordinary young country girl with vague dreams of a handsome stranger who helped her when she was lost as a child. Mei discovers that she inherited a vast fortune and has to enroll in an elite academy for young ladies of high standing. She meets Rihito, her strikingly handsome, effortlessly capable butler. Rihito happens to be the stranger from her dreams and the brother of Kento, a boy who has a crush on her.
Miyagi began the series in 2006, but put it on hiatus last year while she wrote the spin-off manga Mikado Boy in the same magazine. Shueisha shipped the 20th compiled volume in Japan last year. The seriesinspired a live-action drama series in 2009, as well as a stage play in 2011.
