Redline director Takeshi Koike served as animation director and character designer, and anohana's Mari Okada handled the scripts. Dai Satō (Cowboy Bebop, Eureka 7) acted as an episode writer for the series, and composer/musician Naruyoshi Kikuchi produced its opening theme as well as in-show music.

Funimation also posted an English dub trailer for the series.

The anime sequel features the return of the original anime's director Tomoki Kyoda, as well as several mechanical designers, art director, color stylist, visual effects director, and director of photography. The first anime's character designer Kenichi Yoshida and main mechanical designer Shōji Kawamori are also credited for "key character designs" and "Nirvash designs," respectively.

Funimation has also posted an English trailer for the series.

The Michiko and Hatchin cast is as follows:

Michiko - Monica Rial
Hatchin - Jad Saxton
Hiroshi - Christopher Bevins

Funimation will release the series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on September 17. The 22-episode television anime series premiered in Japan in October 2008. Manglobe (Samurai Champloo, Ergo Proxy) produced the series, which marked the directorial debut of Sayo Yamamoto (Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine). The series tells the story of sexy criminal Michiko (Yōko Maki) and abused runaway Hana "Hatchin" Morenos (Suzuka Ohgo). The two team up to cross the lawless frontier, searching for a man from their pasts while eluding the police and Hatchin's foster parents.
