Japan's Family Mart convenience stores are partnering with the Kemono Friends anime for a special prize lottery campaign. The campaign will run from September 13 to October 2.
People who spend at least 500 yen (about US$5) on collaboration items at Family Mart stores can take pictures of their receipts to submit them online for a chance to win prizes. The A Prizes are 100 Lucky Beast blankets with hoods.
The B Prizes are 200 exclusive Kemono Friends-themed prepaid cards worth 500 yen each.
In addition, people who purchase at least three collaboration items will be able to receive one of six "Petanko Kira Kira Charms" during the campaign period while supplies last. The characters who will appear on the charms are Serval, Lion, Eurasian Eagle-Owl, Northern White-faced Owl, Alpaca Suri, and Moose.
After people enter the prize lottery, they will have the option of telling Family Mart who their favorite Friend character is.
A prize lottery offering Kemono Friends hand puppets and other items launched in August. Limited-edition merchandise featuring Okinawan Friends also sold out at various shops in Okinawa when it went on sale in July.
The 12-episode television anime premiered in January, and it will get a second season that "will take some time." The popularity of Kemono Friends has inspired dōjin and zoo tie-in events, a JRA collaboration, and a safari bus tour.
