I would love a ps vita version of this game, but right now Im scared it wont meet its goal, & wont get localized at all, which i really hoping it does.

Honestly, I balked that they wanted $135,000 for a translation of an already created game. In my eyes that's just a greedy goal. The Grisaia initial goal was $160,000 and that was for three games being translated. Why is the goal for Root Double so high?
That said, last I checked the rewards offered were next to nil. I doubt that helped its case much. |

^Same here. I like the story and setting for Root Double and am thinking of throwing some money into it. That said, I think the rewards are overpriced. And totally agree,this kickstarter seems a little much compared to Sekai projects other ones.

I think it's mainly a liscensing issue with games like these, & voice actors & such, & why a lot if Japan's VNs & otome games aren't localized which is a shame. I actually backed libra, another VN, going for the same funded price. In all honesty I heard root double is a really good game, probably better than libra, & more up my alley when it comes to the genres it falls. Yes the awards aren't as good as Libras, but the lowest tier, $30, you get the digital game of most likely 40-50+ gameplay, I think that is good price, thinking that some $60 games have less hours of gameplay than that. Also if the game isn't backed the chance of getting better tier awards is not going to happen. & would really be just a shame to see this game not get localized with how much praise it gotten. It just sounds like a good game, & would truly (not to mean to libra, I backed that game as well) would suck to not see root double localized when libra was.
Things that could have helped, & still could help this Kickstarter If the Kickstarter was longer like Libras which was 40 days, maybe being 35 or 40 days. Better tier awards which really helped libra succeed,wallpaper collections, art books, & such. Be should try to share & promote this game as much as they can, social media, youtubers, big VN & gaming sites, etc. Back it if u actually ever want to see this awesome sounding game that said to be better or at on par with steins; gate. Getting this game localized might be our only chance in seeing other awesome VN get localized as well like Ever 17 & Remember 11, if don't what these two games are look them up, or just read the comments in root doubles Kickstarter, they are mentioned quite a few times. These are just to name a few. Also I an see why $134,000 seems to be a lot, I honestly wish it was lower too, with big name VN like this it is really to get them localized mostly due liscensing issues. |
