It's not like DQ is at the top of people's "must play" and "must buy" lists in the west.

Wasn't saying that, but it is something that I personally know quite a few people were looking forward to. It has its audience.

True but not to the same extent as Japan.

Hence why half the time we don't get certain games.

Nintendo Direct just completely delivered for me. This especially makes me very happy. Especially with how DQ7 had so much text, thought it had little hope for that one.

I do enjoy me some DQ! I already own both of these on console, but that's hardly going to stop me!

Easily my favourite of the announcements to come from the Direct. Going to be a lot of RPG goodness on the 3DS in 2016!

Yes!! Dragon Quest 7 is my favorite!

This reminds me of one time me and my friend were in a Taco Bell and we just started complaining about these games. "The wait is forever! When is it coming out???'
They thought we were talking about our food, and rush out saying 'WE're so sorry!" and hand us free pies. I feel bad about it haha.

Well i'll be off eating my own hat now....
All joking aside I'm really stoked that DQ7-8 are finally coming to the west for the 3ds.

Yeah, that's stating the obvious though.

Kind of a necessity given how not many people are in the know about things like this.

It's really not a necessity. Like at all. The Dragon Quest fanbase in general are well aware at this point and have had more than enough reason to complain all this time, considering we've missed out on six games in the last five years now and been waiting for VII 3DS for almost three. It's good that we're finally getting games again but the way SE's treated Western DQ fans these last few years has been ridiculous.

It's only ridiculous if you expect Square-Enix to simply jump up and localize every remake or new game they release in spite of being well aware of the series as a whole being considerably less popular in certain parts of the world. I mean I wanted Rocket Slime 3 to come stateside but I wasn't exactly upset when it didn't , once I remembered and accepted why it was likely never going to happen.
