Yeah, that's going to get me to buy the game: a reminder of one of the stupidest scenes in the original game. "Even though you didn't sign up for this cross-dressing contest on your own volition, we will hold you back a year if you don't compete." Yeah, if the characters in P4 had IQs higher than their shoe-size, they'd sue them.

I wouldn't have a problem with them if they didn't drag the game on. The stuff that should be optional is mandatory and the stuff that's important is in side-quests. If you took the comedy scenes out, the story probably would have been four hours long (not counting dungeon crawling and Social Links). Unfortunately, you can't just skip those scenes, because god forbid ATLUS gets with the 21st century.

I'm not surprised to see this. Basically every outfit is going to be a possibility for an unlockable or as DLC in a game like this.
It's actually my favorite video game. I'm not quite sure why what is included in a spin-off to a game you clearly didn't like is of such concern for you. Just ignore it, that seems a lot easier than complaining about a game you obviously weren't going to enjoy in the first place. |

I'm talking about the character development. It all occurs in the Social Links rather than the main story. In P3, the characters developed in-story with the SLs providing extra details about their characters. You're most likely not going to complete all of the Social Links on the first playthrough, so you'll be under the impression that the characters stay unlikable pricks throughout the entirety of the story. Even then, the SLs give them weak development. Yukiko learns to conform to her family's traditions! Rise decides that being a celebrity is more important than her principles! Naoto dresses like a girl to impress the Protagonist! |

Persona's 3 characters had the benefit of being tied in some way to one another, though truthfully most of SEES members social links were largely unimpressive to me.
I would think most players would finish all the Social Links of the Investigation team considering there's gameplay benefits to doing so more so than the social links with non team members.
None of them were unlikeable even if you didn't advance the SLs.
Not counting the epilogue this only happens on Christmas and only if you've finished Nanako's dungeon before then. |

The fact that Mitsuru's takes almost forever to start, Akihiko,Junpei,Ken and Shinjiro's can only be done on the female route, and Aigis is only doable way late definitely doesn't help nor the fact that you can advance the social links up until a certain point before the rest of it becomes doable.
