It looks much fancier than the current Oculus Rift, but will it be successful? The 3D TV's didn't exactly work out for them before. Curious to see how well it'll operate on the PS4.

someone please make a real Sword Art Online game that can lock people inside, then stream in PPV.

even If you die in game, you die for real, alot of people are willing to join.

Marks also added that he is currently working with NASA to use the device for other purposes besides gaming.

Why NASA instead of Tenga?

I like how the "future of games" looks like a thing from an 80s sci-fi movie.

Another gimmick. Let's hope this one actually gets somewhere without being a hindrance to new games. At least it seems more promising than the other VR systems.

3DTVs are a completely separate thing in this regard and people don't just up and buy upgraded televisions, the majority only doing so when the old one borks. And 3DTV, while not the resounding success anyone hoped, still has a very sizeable market that buy 3D blu-rays. Passive 3DTVs which came much later being the more popular though not the best quality as they are interlaced, but decent.

At least, Morpheus and Oculus will be successful to the hardcore, particularly given the rise of indy devs. Though both are targeting even more ambitious services outside of gaming. Particularly in 'presence'-built demonstrations that allow you to walk around a room/environment freely.

In any case, it'll be interesting to see what established Japanese devs may do with it come GDC. I'm particularly imagining a Resident Evil or Silent Hill title built for VR... Though I expect horror games, there are also dating sims and mech-simulators. Here's hoping for an Ace Combat.

SAO is also an obvious given, though the most obvious things are usually the most unlikely to happen.
