Sweet! I don't think they need to change anything about their style. If they just transition to doing the same stuff as they are now, but on the ps4, I think all fans will be pleased

I do hope they keep with the Disgaea setting they went with D2 for the PS3. I love the games so far.

I also hope they expand the games a little.

Not exactly breaking news, but certainly will be a factor down the road. Disgaea 3 was the main reason I finally got around to getting a PS3.

AS a huge Disgaea/Makai/PhantomBrave/Prinny fanboy, I am happy to hear this, I look forward to see what they bring out. Also can't wait for NIS America's release of Disgaea D2 later this year!

If nothing else, I can't wait to see how utterly complex they can make their PS4 games.

But then their PS4 games will look like their PS3 games.

If you mean "Overtly pretty for the sake of it", well, you can see where that gets people these days (Tomb Raider; 3 mill is not enough)

I guess what you call overly pretty I call looking like a respectable game.

Even the what? 15 person team at Gust can make an ok looking game. There's no excuse.

And man people need to stop using the Tomb Raider example, they don't seem to understand the context.

What part of N1S' games don't look respectable?

Is it the polygons, doth thou cravetith the little triangles?

Well, don't.

You'll live longer.

I hope Nippon Ichi keeps the sprites, just make them better quality. Sprites are really charming, much better than some generic realistic looking character, and they are one of the few companies left that still make console titles like that.

Actually Japan often employees stylization techniques that America does not. Tomb Raider was absurdly expensive to make because American games in general strive for being as realistic as possible. One of Tomb Raider's things was bragging about a new hair physics engine designed to push your PC graphic cards too it's limit as it rendered Lara's hair in a 'lifelike' form. American games as a culture focus on pushing for more realism, conforming to a universal realistic style, and pushing bigger graphics cards where as most Japanese games adopt stylistic anime and cel-shading graphics, leading them to make beautiful games at only a fraction of the cost. Laughing I don't think we have to worry about Nippon Ichi or Gust falling into Crystal Dynamics's pitfalls.
