E3 is next week, and there is a supposed to be a "next generation Final Fantasy" announcement. Looks like someone just jumped the gun, but it's clear that a new FF game is coming to next-gen consoles.

Tomorrow in Sony's press conference they will reveal the Final Fantasy for PS4 (I think it's near night)

Didn't square mention that they were developing a Final Fantasy for the PS4 when Sony announced it. Shopto.com has had FF listed for the PS4 since it was first announced.

Yes, when Sony had their big PS4 event they announced a new FF game would be at E3.

Nothing says next gen like a new installment in a popular franchise.

Still, after XIII, my reaction is tepid at best. Hopefully they prove me wrong.

Interesting. They're really setting themselves up to disappoint people if this is just Versus/Agni's Philosophy renamed. Not that I'm criticizing either of those projects. I'm excited for both. But if you promise something new and then it turns out to be something people have already seen, you're gonna be let down. But on the other hand, are they really going to launch yet another big FF project even though they've already got Versus and Agni in the works? I don't know.

I really hope a next gen FF is'nt just the game you already shown like 6 years ago. That would be disappointing and embarrassing.

Square should just release the 4k-remake of FF7 at launch. That way they can save themselves 5-10 years of people asking for it and get back to business.
