They're pretty good. There are a few times here and there where the melodrama is piled on just a tad too high, but not in such a way that the story stops being entertaining--it's a heartstring-tugger, albeit one with a sense of humor. I'm eager to see what this third one will be like.
I also like the first movie's ending song by D-51 (I don't remember Bump of Chicken's song from the second one that well). I'm just a little surprised that these movies haven't been released on R1 DVD yet. Maybe I'll import the Blu-rays whenever those come out. |
