Well, that's obvious, that agency has been very suspect for decades. Too bad Kitagawa died before he could get his day in court, well at least compensation can be handed out to the victims.

Worst kept secret in J-Pop. Everybody involved in the coverups should go to prison, but they won't.

At least Kitagawa is finally dead and can't hurt anyone else. Some mod here wouldn't let me express my sentiment of happiness back when he died. I don't know why not, because I've seen people say far worse about far less evil people.

You know i can't help but wonder about certain things.

Considering this had been going up for several decades, you can not probably believe to imagine just how many people have suffered by all of this. People whose lives were destroyed, traumatized and some tragically even took their own life.

How many artists probably reflected some of that pain in their songs too. It is not just that, if this was allowed can u imagine all the sheer ugliness that has come out in all other sides of the entertainment industry be it Idol/Anime/Manga/Live shows/Adult Entertainment and the list goes on. Probably it is a lot worse cause im sure their is a lot of the darkside that has yet been found.

The industry just has too many abusers in all aspects, their has to be a regulatory body that has to make sure this does not happen. Right now the system has and is still is failing them.

The only thing that is shameful in this case, is the guy in question never really had to answer for his crimes but i hope at least the business and people that helped and buried it all as well as the company itself gets ruined and abolished and its and his name forever tarnished.

To anyone who has suffered. I am truly sorry, i wish i can help but i can only offer my sympathizes Sad which i know is not and never will be enough.

And nothing's gonna be done about it

The J-media is too embedded with the agency

Maybe not, I'm hoping because of the scandal it could lead to somebody or few of the people in J-media to blow the whistle at the risk of their career. I mean there's got to be a breaking point where you can't keep it a secret anymore. It'll blow up, trust me and we've seen this before. So the Japanese media will face heavy criticism for aiding and abetting this for a long time.

At the very least, the J-government-owned network NHK should rid themselves of anyone from Johnny's until the agency answers for these

No public money should be used to support criminal activity

As someone else said:
Quote:
There are definitely some similarities. Many people, aristocrats, doctors, politicians, royals, etc., knew what Savile was doing but turned a blind eye and let it continue because of his status and ability to fundraise.

But a major difference is that while the British population was disgusted by his actions and expressed sadness and sympathy for the youth, in Japan there seems to be nothing but disdain and indifference for the victims while Kitamura's reputation remains intact.
