This graphic novel seems like something the world deserves to be adapted into an anime series. There haven't been enough more serious but light-hearted LGBTQ shows since Hourou Musuko, and I think we're about due for another one.

What's this? There's no love interest? But then how are we to know if he's really gay or not? Rolling Eyes

I'll admit I'm more acquainted with Tagame's more, ah, "insider-friendly" material, but it sounds like this one has struck a good balance with the genre's usual pitfalls. Coming out fairy tales can be cute, but if you've ever had it go badly you start to wonder if idealizing it is really the best approach.

(I know I should give My Brother's Husband a shot, too, but it's one of those series people tend to talk about without realizing there could be gays in the room. Which is a feeling, let me tell you.)

Oh, man, I bet it is.

I actually like this one a little better than My Brother's Husband because the POV is the gay character rather than the straight one for most of the book. That makes it feel less like the fairy tale, for me anyway. That scene I mentioned with the doors felt really real.
