I think this would be absolutely perfect casting, she's a great comedic and dramatic actor and I think she'd do really well in the role. I know a lot of people aren't looking forward to this, understandable given Hollywood's track record and the nature of One Piece as a series, but so far there hasn't been a casting decision that's given me pause so I hope it's good. And it would actually be smart casting, not only because she'd be good in the role, but it would give Netflix their "Big Name Actor" that they can promote as part of the series, that is if it does end up being good and getting a second season.

If the show gets that far I'm all for it. While the odds of it being good or bad good is low I can still hope.

To be with her favorite character, Chopper lol of course.
Would be a great casting for sure. Still not optimistic for this show, though.

Oh thats been somewhat well known for a while. I think people first noticed her at the Strong World premiere in the states, and she's been at every movie premiere ever since.

Yeah of all the "seasoned" actors she is very much a geek/nerd/otaku. She has great tastes IMO.

I'm really, really, glad Kureha's part in the series comes later. I think she's a great actress, and would hate to see her have to carry the bag of discussing a failed series just because she's the most famous name attached to it. At least this gives time for the first part to get out of the way and prove it deserves her to be in future iterations.

Mother & daughter sharing a love for One Piece is the cutest thing ever! Love it! Hope she gets her chance to play Kureha, and maybe her daughter can get a cameo, too!
