Can it beat Gibiate though?
I suspect it will have a viewer number boost from people watching to see how bad it could possibly be. |

This is so absolutely unfortunate. I had hoped the last PV we got was just early-early production stuff, but this is only barely better. When people complain about 3DCG, they're thinking of stuff that looks like this.

This promo video pretty much confirms EX-ARM will set the "CG anime can look good" cause back 20 years.

The Crunchyroll Originals line has had a rather rough go of it with the line being composed of primarily Webtoon adaptations of middling quality (as editorials on this website can attest to) or the most tonally confused Avatar clone ever (say what you will about The Dragon Prince, it didn’t include cute animals and on-screen ritual sacrifice in the same episode).
This does not help its case one bit. I can’t see Sony wanting to keep Ellation studios and the CR Originals line alive after their current commitments are fulfilled. And yeah, for everyone praising a Beastars or the like showing that CG anime does have a future, this happens, and it looks like a student film that aired on Tech TV in the early 2000’s next to episodes of Extended Play and Thunderbirds. |

Let's not get too hasty here! For every bad CG anime out there, let's always remind ourselves the really good 3DCG effort made like this scene in the most recent episode of D4DJ. |

OK!
This joke has gone too far, it's time for the real trailer to be released. |

Welcome to Uncanny Valley -- the Anime.
I don't think that I'm masochistic enough to watch this. :/ |

Kinda heartwarming in a way that it still looks so bad.
I found the randomly realistic teeth to be a bit distracting. Sometimes they'll just have a white plate and other times it's like boom...teeth divisions.... and it looks bad. Agreed with @darkchibi07. I haven't watched d4dj but what little I've seen has been so charming. There's also the really great 3DCG models for Love Live Nijigasaki that almost look like normal animation. 3DCG has taken a lot of leaps and bounds, but unfortunately work like exarms is....not one of them. Maybe if this came out like 10+ years ago... |

The music and cast are so wasted on this.

The whole series basically is. I can't think of a time when a series just got a new anime after the first one bombed. We have lots of recent and not-so-recent remakes, but these are usually years after the originals. |

It's the eyes. They all look dead.

Okay sure but it doesn't help that both this and Cestvs are airing and both have taken 3DCG and run it into the ground. With production being able to be delayed with a single excuse (covid) studios really should delay these projects and improve them. |

There is something really absurd about the mouth movements of these characters. Seriously, it is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in CG animation. And that lip sync...!
